Aurwest Resources Completes Phase 1 Exploration at Weaver Lake Gold Project

Calgary, Alberta — August 27, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Aurwest Resources Corporation has completed its Phase 1 exploration program at the Weaver Lake gold project in southwestern British Columbia, collecting 324 rock, soil and stream sediment samples for analysis. The program, which aimed to apply modern exploration methods to historically identified targets, also included geological mapping across the property located in the Harrison Lake area.

Aurwest can earn a 50% interest in the property through an option agreement with Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. The Phase 1 work was guided by recommendations from an independent technical report dated December 29, 2025, prepared for Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd.

Of the 324 samples submitted, 243 were soil samples intended to confirm and expand upon anomalies identified in surveys conducted in 1991, 1995, and 1996. Unlike much of the historical sampling, which focused primarily on gold, the 2026 samples will undergo multi-element analysis. Notably, 37 historical soil samples that yielded over 40 ppb gold, including five exceeding 1 g/t gold, had not been previously followed up and were prioritized in the recent program.

Additionally, 72 rock samples were collected from historical soil anomaly sites and areas exhibiting favorable mineralization, veining, and alteration. Nine stream sediment samples were gathered from principal drainages, with the Weaver Lake drainage itself previously recorded as anomalous in gold and zinc. The 2026 sampling aims to pinpoint the source of these anomalies.

Geological mapping was conducted on the main targets identified by historical geochemistry and drilling. A significant objective of Phase 1 was to re-establish accurate geospatial control for historical data, much of which lacked reliable positioning, a crucial step for future drill targeting.

Field observations revealed the strongest development of quartz veining and pyrite veining within 10 meters of prominent structures. These structures were also associated with magnetic intrusions, significant phyllic alteration, and fluid-feeder textures. Alteration appeared to transition to advanced argillic and argillic assemblages further from these structures. Anomalous rock types were found to be discontinuous and strongly structurally controlled, with the relationships between veining, alteration, lithology, and mineralization to be interpreted upon receipt of analytical results.

Cameron MacDonald, Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of Aurwest, stated that the historical exploration at Weaver Lake, while showing high-grade intercepts, had tested only a small portion of the claim block with outdated methods and unreliable survey control. He emphasized that Phase 1 aimed to rectify this by establishing a systematic, georeferenced geochemical dataset and linking historical showings to geological features. MacDonald anticipates that upon receiving assay results, existing targets can be properly ranked, and new ones potentially defined.

The next steps involve using the analytical results to refine and rank targets for a multi-phase program. Phase 2 is planned as a geophysical program, including induced polarization and resistivity surveys. A Phase 3 diamond drilling program is anticipated to follow, contingent on favorable results from the preceding phases. Aurwest plans to provide further updates as data is compiled and results become available.

The Weaver Lake Property hosts the LD Showing, characterized by mineralization within Lower to Middle Jurassic volcanic rocks. The mineralization is structurally controlled by a fault system trending approximately 070°, with quartz–calcite ± sulphide veins and stockworks containing pyrite, sphalerite, and chalcopyrite, associated with breccia and altered, silicified zones.

Historical exploration efforts dating back to 1973 have included trench sampling yielding high-grade gold, silver, and zinc, followed by diamond drilling in 1975 that intersected significant gold-silver intervals. Subsequent exploration in the late 1970s and early 1990s involved geophysical surveys, soil geochemistry, and mapping, with further drilling conducted in 1996, 2008, and 2018. While some later holes intersected altered rocks with veining, they returned lower grades than historical results.

The geological setting and mineralization style suggest an orogenic (mesothermal) gold deposit model, consistent with structurally controlled quartz ± carbonate vein systems common in the Canadian Cordillera. The property's predominant structure is an east-northeast trending fault zone, complexly offset by other faults, with gold and silver mineralization occurring in quartz veins and stockworks near this zone.

Aurwest's sampling methodology involved GPS-located, digitally logged procedures, with samples sealed and delivered to ALS North Vancouver for preparation and analysis. Certified blanks were inserted into the rock sample stream for quality control. Samples exceeding 25 ppm gold will be further analyzed.

The company noted that historical exploration data and results, drawn from publicly filed assessment reports, have not been verified by Aurwest or a Qualified Person. These historical results predate National Instrument 43-101 and their sampling, analytical, and quality control procedures cannot be confirmed. Reported drill intervals are core lengths, and true widths are unknown. Trench, chip, grab, and selective samples are not representative of mineralization on the property, which does not host a mineral resource or reserve. The company considers this historical information relevant only as an exploration guide.
