Upside Gold Exceeds Drilling Metres at Kena Project, Continues Exploration for Updated Resource Estimate
CALGARY, Alberta — August 19, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Upside Gold Corp. has completed approximately 4,645 metres of diamond drilling at its Kena Gold-Copper Project in southeastern British Columbia, surpassing the 4,000 metres originally planned for the 2026 program. Drilling will continue beyond the initial program to test extensions of the historical gold resource and additional high-priority gold-copper targets, including the Kena Copper-Gold Zone. The expanded 2026 drill program is a key component of Upside Gold’s strategy toward an updated NI 43-101 mineral resource estimate targeted for 2027. This estimate will incorporate new drilling, post-2021 historical drilling, and the evaluation of copper and silver values.
The Company has now exceeded the planned metres for the 2026 program. Based on the progress and ongoing evaluation of drill core, drilling will extend beyond the originally planned program. Upside Gold is currently focusing its drilling on testing the Kena Copper-Gold Zone, extending southeast along strike from the historic resource. The Company's Mines Act Permit MX-100000131 was extended to October 31, 2026, allowing for continued exploration and drilling into the fall.
“The team has made excellent progress at Kena, and we have already exceeded the metres originally planned for this year’s program,” said Sophy Cesar, CEO and Director of Upside Gold. “With our exploration permit extended through the end of October and a strong treasury following our recent financing, we have the flexibility to keep testing priority targets as the program advances. Each additional metre brings us closer to our objective of an updated mineral resource estimate at Kena in 2027.”
Drill core from the program is being logged, sampled, and submitted for analysis on an ongoing basis. The Company expects to report assay results as they are received, reviewed, and interpreted. Results from the 2026 drilling program are expected to form an important component of the Company’s broader resource evaluation strategy at Kena. Upside intends to combine the new drilling with approximately 5,000 metres of historical drilling completed subsequent to the 2021 historical mineral resource estimate and its ongoing evaluation of historical copper and silver analytical data to support the preparation of an updated NI 43-101 mineral resource estimate targeted for 2027. Drill core samples have also been submitted for a program of metallurgical testing to assess gold, copper, and silver recoveries together from the mineralized material to support this estimate.
The Kena Project hosts a historical gold resource comprising an Indicated Mineral Resource of 32,146,000 tonnes at an average grade of 0.544 g/t Au for 0.561 million ounces of gold, and an Inferred Mineral Resource of 177,507,000 tonnes at an average grade of 0.486 g/t Au for 2.77 million ounces of gold. A Qualified Person has not done sufficient work to classify the historical estimate as current mineral resources, and Upside Gold Corp. is not treating the historical estimate as current mineral resources. The historical estimate is provided for information purposes only and should not be relied upon. Additional drilling and technical work will be required to verify the historical estimate as a current mineral resource.
