Nord Precious Metals Initiates Pre-Submission Consultation for Gowganda Silver Tailings Recovery Program

Cobalt, Ontario — August 5, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Nord Precious Metals Mining Inc. (“Nord” or the “Company”) has initiated pre-submission consultation with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (“MECP”) regarding environmental permissions for its silver tailings recovery program in the Gowganda Silver Camp, Ontario. This engagement marks a significant step in advancing the Company's plans to recover metals from historical silver tailings.

On July 21, 2026, Nord's technical team met with officials from MECP's North Bay District Office and Northern Region Technical Support Section. The meeting served to review project information and identify the necessary materials for future environmental submissions. These submissions will accompany the Company's planned Mineral Recovery Permit application under Ontario Regulation 463/24, which falls under Part VII of the Mining Act.

The consultation is a direct result of Nord's recent expansion of its operational capacity and capability. Over the past six months, the Company acquired four mining leases on March 31, 2026, consolidating historical silver tailings and the most productive past-producing ground in the Gowganda Camp. This acquisition complements TTL Laboratories, identified as the only permitted high-grade milling facility in the historic Cobalt Camp. Recognizing that capacity alone does not yield production, Nord has concurrently built its capability by assembling a dedicated permit team, engaging specialist consultants, and establishing defined contacts and workstreams with Ontario's regulators.

“It is not enough to expand capacity; you must expand capability,” stated Frank J. Basa, P.Eng., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nord. “Six months ago we consolidated the ground, the tailings, and the only permitted high-grade mill in the camp. Now we have built the team and opened the regulatory channel to convert that capacity into production: one window at each ministry, one accountable coordinator on our side, and a defined set of studies on a single schedule. The tailings get stabilized, the erosion stops, and the metals pay for the cleanup.”

Alex Kuhnert, P.Eng., Owner’s Representative, added, “The Ministry told us what it needs first: a project description, a site plan, a preliminary water balance, and the baseline characterization program. Each workstream has an assigned owner and each is in motion. The sequencing is the job, and the sequence is set.”

The Company's expanded capability is further embodied in the specialized team engaged with the ministries. Frank J. Basa, P.Eng., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, provides metallurgical and Qualified Person oversight. Alex Kuhnert, P.Eng., Owner's Representative and President of ERNESCO Technical Advisory Services Inc., serves as the single accountable coordinator for Nord's consultants and the Company's liaison with both ministries. T Engineering Inc., led by Principal Bernie Ting, P.Eng., is responsible for process and mechanical engineering, including the preliminary process flow sheet and water/mass balance. Okane Consultants, specialists in mine-waste geochemistry and geotechnical services, are leading geotechnical and geochemical characterization, including metal leaching/acid rock drainage assessment. GeoVector Management Inc. is preparing an updated NI 43-101 mineral resource estimate for the Gowganda property. Pathway Group, through Bill Mauro and Al MacDermid, is managing government and stakeholder relations, coordinating engagement across ministries.

Ontario's Recovery of Minerals regime, established in July 2025 under Ontario Regulation 463/24, aims to streamline mineral recovery from historical tailings and advance legacy mine site remediation. The Ontario Ministry of Energy and Mines (“MEM”) has provided an application template and outlined an approximately 80-day review pathway for a complete Recovery Permit application. MECP has designated a district contact to coordinate its technical specialists and advised that the project may require a site-specific Environmental Compliance Approval for sewage works and a Permit to Take Water. Baseline characterization will support submissions to both ministries, minimizing duplication. Records of consultation with Indigenous communities will also be part of the Company’s submissions.

In a written follow-up on July 22, 2026, MECP confirmed the consultation framework and requested a single consolidated submission. The Company's package will include the preliminary site water and mass balance, geochemical recommendations memorandum, and a district staff site visit will be scheduled.

The initial phase of the program involves on-site physical separation of historical silver-cobalt tailings using modular gravity concentration. The processing installation is planned to be modular and mobile, with closed-loop water handling and no poured concrete, offering redeployment capabilities. This approach avoids blasting, hoisting, or underground development. Downstream metals recovery is contemplated under a separate structure.

The tailings recovery program is central to Nord's strategy of achieving near-term silver production to unlock district-scale value. This pathway includes an updated NI 43-101 mineral resource estimate, reprocessing economics, permitting, commissioning of the recovery circuit, and evaluation of repeat deployment. The company anticipates that cash flow from tailings recovery will fund district-scale exploration, reducing reliance on equity financing.
