Patriot Nickel and Homeland Nickel Receive U.S. Forest Service Permits for Oregon Surveys
Toronto, Ontario — July 16, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Patriot Nickel Corp and Homeland Nickel Inc. have received U.S. Forest Service permits for aerial LIDAR and magnetometer surveys on nickel laterite lode claims within the Josephine Ophiolite formation in southwestern Oregon. These surveys are designed to delineate the geologic structure, serpentinization extent, topographic variations, and the presence of nickel laterite in the region, identified as the largest nickel-bearing mineral deposit in the continental United States.
The drone-based airborne survey will utilize Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) technology over the Cleopatra and Red Flat areas. This method allows for surveys without the need for on-site personnel or equipment in the mountain regions. Both Patriot Nickel and Homeland Nickel expressed commitment to environmental compliance and preservation of the Siskiyou National Forest, while emphasizing the development of critical minerals essential for American national interests and the creation of sustainable economic benefits, including jobs and local infrastructure improvements.
The surveys are scheduled to take place in the third quarter of 2026. The findings will aid Patriot Nickel in refining its estimate of nickel laterite, building a geologic model, and advancing towards a bankable feasibility study and subsequent development of the mineral-bearing areas.
Patriot Nickel Corp, a U.S. corporation, was formed to develop and produce nickel from U.S. deposits through an agreement with Homeland Nickel Inc. Patriot's objective is to become the leading U.S.-mined and U.S.-refined nickel source, ensuring critical mineral security for advanced batteries, aerospace, and clean energy sectors in the United States.
Homeland Nickel is a Canadian mineral exploration company focused on critical metal resources, with nine nickel projects in Oregon, U.S., including two with historical resources. The Cleopatra Property alone features a historical resource of approximately 40 million tonnes of laterite grading 0.9% nickel, positioning it as the largest historical undeveloped nickel resource in the continental U.S. Homeland Nickel's common shares are traded on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol SHL.
Stephen Balch, CEO of Homeland Nickel, stated that the aerial surveys will be instrumental in understanding the area's geological characteristics. Jeff Strobel, CEO of Patriot, highlighted the environmental stewardship and national security aspects of the project.
