Lexaria Bioscience Corp. Provides Update on Financial Position and Business Strategy
Kelowna, British Columbia — September 17, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Lexaria Bioscience Corp., a global innovator in drug delivery platforms, has announced a strong cash position following a recent Australian tax refund and an institutional financing, totaling US$7.9 million in net proceeds. With only 2.1 million shares outstanding, this new capital, combined with the Company's existing cash balance, amounts to approximately US$4.60 per share in current cash on hand.
"Despite the positive achievements we have recently reported across all aspects of our business: clinical results, business development, and funding - our stock price has been under significant pressure by what can only be described as aggressive/perplexing trading activity," said Rich Christopher, CEO of Lexaria Bioscience Corp. "We will weather the storm and offset this predatory trading behavior through continued execution of our business strategy. We are extremely frustrated by these market conditions and are certainly thankful to our existing retail shareholder base for their patience during this trying time."
The US$7.9 million in new capital is expected to extend Lexaria’s cash runway through 2027, providing the financial stability required to execute its business plans. The Company stated it has no intention of pursuing additional equity or debt financings in 2026. Significant progress has also been made on the business development front, leading to expectations of reduced R&D funding requirements in 2027 as certain costs are transferred to partners. Lexaria plans to continue pursuing additional business development relationships.
Lexaria will soon provide progress updates on its ongoing 2026 R&D programs. Following the completion of financing activities and the assembly of budgets, the Company will also offer guidance for its 2027 R&D programs.
