Toronto, Ontario – Oct. 20, 2025 – TheNewswire - Bio Graphene Solutions (“BGS” or the “Company”), in partnership with Exhibition Place, announced today that it has completed the second public demonstration of its patent-pending graphene-enhanced low carbon concrete technology at Exhibition Place in Toronto, including a commercial pour showcased under the iconic Princes’ Gates.
The Company’s innovative admixture technology has been incorporated into concrete infrastructure at Exhibition Place, one of Canada’s largest entertainment and convention venues. This project demonstrates the real-world performance of graphene-enhanced low carbon concrete, which can reduce cement usage by up to 25% in common concrete mixes and deliver embodied carbon reductions of 275–500kg CO₂e per truckload, while maintaining the durability and performance expected in municipal-scale construction.
The project is an important milestone for both organizations, highlighting how public-private collaboration can accelerate sustainable innovation in the construction industry. With concrete production responsible for more than 8% of global CO₂ emissions, adopting low carbon solutions such as BGS’s graphene admixture represents a meaningful step toward net-zero targets.
Don Boyle, CEO of Exhibition Place, commented, “Exhibition Place is proud to be a leader in advancing sustainability within Toronto’s built environment. Partnering with BGS allows us to test and showcase innovative technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support our long-term vision of a greener, more sustainable future for our city. Between 2019 and 2024, Exhibition Place reduced its carbon footprint by 34%, demonstrating the tangible impact of our commitment to sustainability.”
David Fisher, CEO of Bio Graphene Solutions, said, “At BGS, our mission is to revolutionize construction materials with sustainable innovation. This collaboration with Exhibition Place demonstrates the real-world benefits of graphene-enhanced low carbon concrete and reinforces our commitment to Canada’s net-zero future. We are proud to work with forward-looking partners like Exhibition Place to bring meaningful change to how we build.”
• Concrete production is one of the largest sources of CO₂ globally, estimated to account for up to 8% of global CO₂ emissions.
• Graphene is a nanomaterial that enables lower cement usage in concrete while improving strength, durability, and freeze–thaw resilience.
• Demonstrating graphene concrete under the Princes’ Gates shows how sustainable materials can be integrated with iconic public infrastructure.
• Adoption of graphene-enhanced concrete supports pathways to net-zero and potential CO₂ credit recognition.
