Calgary, Alberta – TheNewswire - August 20, 2025 – Wescan Energy Corp. ("Wescan" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the successful completion of drilling operations for its multilateral horizontal oil well located in the Provost area of east-central Alberta.
The well was drilled on time and under the approved authorization for expenditure (AFE) budget, marking a key operational milestone in Wescan’s 2025 capital program targeting oil development in the Mannville Group. The wellbore was designed with multiple horizontal laterals to enhance reservoir contact, improve recovery, and reduce surface disturbance. No operational issues were encountered during the drilling phase.
Wescan is currently conducting pressure testing on the well and anticipates commencing production by late August to early September 2025.
“We are very encouraged by the execution of this drilling program and remain focused on delivering capital-efficient growth,” said Leo Berezan, Chief Executive Officer of Wescan Energy Corp. “With drilling completed under budget, we look forward to bringing this well on stream shortly.”
The Company will provide additional updates upon production startup and once stabilized flow rates have been established.
