Edgewater Wireless Launches WiFi Pilot at Major Entertainment Venue in New York City

Participation in CableLabs UpRamp Accelerator Program Launches Pilot Project for WiFi3(TM) Technology

Ottawa, Canada / TheNewswire / April 20, 2017 -- Edgewater Wireless Systems Inc. (YFI; TSX.V), a wireless innovation company and the developer of WiFi3(TM) the industry's first multi-channel technology for high-density WiFi and IOT applications announced today that it will deploy its latest Gen2 high density access point products in a paid pilot project at one of New York City's most well-known entertainment venues. The WiFi pilot project is the direct result of Edgewater's continued participation in CableLabs-sponsored UpRamp Fiterator, an accelerator program designed to connect a select group of emerging products and technology to 58 of the world's leading cable operators.

"New York City is the largest and most densely populated city in North America which poses significant challenges for WiFi networks, especially in high traffic areas such as large entertainment venues," said Andrew Skafel, President & CEO of Edgewater Wireless. "This pilot is a significant opportunity to validate the use of WiFi3 technology in a high-density environment to improve the quality of service in a large venue setting. As part of this pilot project, Edgewater Wireless will supply our EAP3031 Access Points Powered by WiFi3, controllers, technical services and testing gear and will generate revenues of approximately $100,000. The pilot project is expected to commence in April 2017 and take several weeks to complete. Data will be collected during the testing period and evaluated against specific criteria set by the customer. While the pilot project will be conducted in a single venue, the customer commissioning the project owns and operates multiple venues which span four of the largest entertainment markets in North America.
